Unless you want to play "cops & robbers", we are a mask-free business.
We strive to provide an authentic un-commercialized trail ride experience. We're first in the WORLD to do this on horses rescued from slaughter. During the 2 hour/3.5 mile experience, we will guide you through our scenic ranch horseback on winding natural deer-trails with lots of wildlife. Rides start off grooming your horse to connect with them before hitting the trail. Ride time is about an hour +/-, and is always 3.5 miles long. Please bring your sense of adventure, and willingness to take instruction. We welcome ALL LEVELS of riders, and hope you'll become our new friends by the end of the ride! Come expecting to learn about cowboy culture, freedom, respect, "do no harm but take no bull" lifestyle that cowboys lead. Our family is the real deal, and by coming to ride with us, you are coming as welcomed guest to our home.

Like no place else!
Let's hit the trail! Ride will begin at the hitching post with hands-on horse brushing. It is so important to have the chance to connect with your horse before you hop on. We advocate taking the time to get to know your horse, which is the ultimate respect you can pay to your mount. I’ll saddle them for you, we ride only western at Blue Moon, and always safely in a saddle with a bridle or hackamore. You'll get a quick tutorial how your horse works, and simple riding tips. We’ll ride into the forested deer pasture, skirt the sides of the large pond, and meander through wooded pastures. Our ride will take us through more beautiful natural wildlife habitat where native White Tail deer, exotic Axis deer, foxes, wild turkeys, and armadillo are usually seen. We’ll head back by the large hay field, and back into the forested pasture. We’ll end up right back at the ranch house, just in time to cool off and give the horses a rest. Experience Texas Hill Country nature and history on a working cattle ranch from (rescued) horseback! Ride is a little over 3 miles total and about 1 hour actual riding time (could go slower/faster depending).
RESERVATIONS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE
**TERMS AND CONDITIONS BELOW**
YOU MUST BE ABLE TO MOUNT UP UNASSISTED (with exception of small children). We do have a 2-step equine mounting block but prefer if riders can climb aboard without it for safety reasons. MOST HORSES ARE FROM 15-16 HANDS TALL. We are a MASK FREE business. Mask= NO RIDE. Masks pose a safety hazard with this activity. If you are concerned about catching any virus, please stay home and do not travel.
Your experience positive or negative depends on YOU. Not the horse.

*Children riding double with an adult parent are free of charge **size limit/max age 8, as they must fit in the saddle with parent**
We do not have a set age limit for children. Small children *may* ride with an adult parent AT PARENT"S DISCRESSION. Any child riding double must fit IN the saddle with their parent. We are not the keepers of your children, their safety is YOUR responsibility. We are not responsible for accidents, and do not necessarily recommend riding double. Children riding by themselves MUST be able to steer the horse around trees and branches by themselves, listen to and follow instructions, and follow along with the group. Children are not to run around the horses, scream, yell, or generally act wild. This is for their own safety, the safety of our horses, and the peace of other guests. IF YOUR CHILD CANNOT HANDLE THE WHOLE RIDE, PLEASE LEAVE THEM AT HOME. We WILL NOT go back and do not allow guests to go back or cut the ride short. Life is about moving forward, not going backwards. If your child cannot hang with adults or is scared of horses, this isn't the horseback riding activity for them. Lessons scheduled at a later date *may* be a better fit (coming soon).
*NO CRYING. CRYING IS FOR WIMPS.
*DO NOT BRING YOUR OWN "MOUNTING BLOCK", you will be asked to leave. They are DANGEROUS, and we do not have space here to explain why.
The result of refusal to follow instructions, tantrum throwing/crying child will be a long walk back, without your horse, and NO REFUND.
*NO REFUNDS FOR ANY REASON (host cancelling due to weather is exception)
**You will be texted directions around 10am on ride day, and the gate code at 10:55am. PLEASE have the correct phone number on your booking or you won't be able to get in.**
